Having so many women in decision-making positions is fantastic for our state.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg famously said, “Women belong in all places where decisions are being made.” I wholeheartedly agree and love this recent study by the Vote Mama Foundation that shows that every state legislature now has a mom of minor children serving.

Here in New Jersey, we have several. And Governor Mikie Sherrill is the first Democratic female governor in our state’s history.

Having so many women in decision-making positions is fantastic for our state. It’s also inspiration for all the young girls who see their mom and other female role models positively impact policy in their local communities and statewide.

If you’ve been following Prepare2Vote for any amount of time, you know many of the reasons you should vote. But if you’re a woman in the Garden State, especially a mom with young kids, here’s another reason to get involved: Decisions are made at all levels of government, from local school board to the Assembly and Senate to the Governor’s office.

Being a mom with young kids is no longer a barrier to getting involved, running for office and being in positions of power. Moms are getting things done! Join us in propelling the state and country forward!
