Vote Ready Project
This program delivers to communities where they are. Through tabling events and gatherings, we provide voter education, registration help, and easy to follow information about the impacts of government .
Volunteers can help people register to vote, check existing registration, and help fill out individualized Prepare2Vote Voting Plans.
At its core, P2V is about building community power by making sure people have accurate, accessible information so they can vote confidently and help others do the same.
Youth Ambassador Program
Our Prepare2Vote Youth Ambassador Program is all about growing the next generation of civic leaders. The program gives students age 14 - 23, hands-on opportunities to learn how government works, explore what civic leadership looks like, learn about voting and voter registration, while building public speaking and communication skills.
The program is currently growing, primarily through peer to peer engagement, with new educational materials and program structure taking shape. Looking ahead, the focus is on recruiting more Ambassadors, strengthening school and youth organization partnerships, and launching student-led initiatives and presentations in the community.
The program started with an engaging civic education presentation created by Ali Sabir. Students dive into the three branches of government, how local, county, state, and federal systems connect, and what voting rights and responsibilities look like in practice. It also covers ways to get civically involved beyond the ballot box, like community advocacy. Ambassadors take what they've learned and share it with their peers and communities—turning students into teachers.
At its heart, P2V Youth Ambassador program is building a lasting pipeline of informed, engaged young leaders ready to inspire others.
Volunteers can help by participating in Ambassador events and programming outside of school, assisting with the creation of programs that engage students with every skill level and ability, and growing our network.
Participatory Budgeting Project with Trent-Towne Market
What is Participatory Budgeting?
In a nutshell participatory budgeting demonstrates a real-life example of government in action at the neighborhood level; it mirrors how public systems are supposed to work:
People in the community identify needs, submit ideas, create proposals to implement those ideas, debate priorities, allocate resources, and hold decision-makers accountable.
The same skills you use in participatory budgeting—speaking up, listening, compromising, voting, and following up—are the same skills needed to participate in democracy.
It aligns with our mission of showing you how government impacts your daily life—and how you can reshape it.
That’s where we come in.
Tyrell Smith, founder of Trent-Towne Market spearheads a Participatory Budgeting Project in the Choice Neighborhood of Trenton to encourage the community to work together on an improvement project, while realizing the power they could have as a community is shaping how government addresses their needs.
It’s the perfect partnership.
We are drawing parallels with conversations and resources, providing the tools to empower the community to use their voice to create real change. Volunteers can help with tabling and partnership events.
This project perfectly demonstrates how a small group of people can change the world, or at least the Community around them.
