Section 13: Choosing a Political Party -
You DO NOT have to choose a party unless you want to vote in the Primary.
Change of party affiliation forms must be filed 55 days before the next Primary Election.
The purpose of the Primary Election is to choose the candidate who will run against the opposing party's candidate in the General Election in November. So if you are registered as a Democrat or Republican, the only candidates you will see on your ballot for the Primary are of the party to which you are registered. In the General Election you can vote for any candidate you want, regardless of your affiliation.

IF YOU ARE UNDECLARED YOU CAN VOTE IN THE PRIMARY IF YOU VOTE IN PERSON.

You will have to declare a party at the polling place. If you want to vote by mail, choosing a party must be done at least 7 days prior. You can also change your party affiliation at any time after the Primary, by filling out the change party affiliation form.

Section 14:
If you would like to vote by mail instead of voting in person check the appropriate box. Section 1 has the same option. Check both.

Be sure to sign and date your application. Addition instructions are provided at the bottom of the application.
