We recommend checking your Voter Registration every year at least a month prior to an election. If you have any questions contact your County Board of Elections.

Vote by Mail Information

Voting by Mail is an opportunity to vote from your home, dorm, vacation, business trip, etc. It can also give you extra time to vote depending on when you apply, because the ballots start hitting mailboxes 6 weeks or so before the election. So if there is a possibility of getting called to work, or not being able to get to the polls for any reason at all, this is a great option.

How to apply:

If you are registering to vote for the first time or changing your address, you can choose to vote by mail at the same time.
If you are already registered to vote, you can fill out the paper application. Be sure to complete section 1-9. Sections 10 & 11 are only needed if you require assistance completing and submitting the form.
Be sure to download the application for the County where you live, as there is a preprinted address on the back of the form for your County Clerk.
Voters may apply for a Vote by Mail ballot in person the day before an election, by 3 p.m. at the Clerk's office. You can also submit your completed ballot at that time.

Once you’ve received your ballot, fill it out and either mail it, drop it in a secure drop box in the county where you live, or drop it off to your Board of Elections office.

Voting Early In-Person

The State of New Jersey lets you vote for 9 days prior to Election Day, including Saturday and Sunday. And you can use any Early Voting polling location in your County of residence. The state will post locations closer to Election Day.
